Minnesota Blue band members, Barbara Yotter and Kelton Parrish are the 2009 Minnesota Duet Champions!

The prizes: mini guitars, 250 bucks, and big-ass trophies.
The duo cinched first place on September 4th at the Minnesota State Fair squaring off against 16 other pairs of singers. The prizes for their feat were two Baby Taylor Guitars ($600 value), $250 cash, and trophies.
The Minnesota Duet Championship is an annual event sponsored by the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA) and held each year at the Minnesota State Fair. The contest takes place in two rounds, a preliminary round in which all duos perform two numbers and second round for the top five finishers where they perform one final selection. The contestants are judged on the quality of their duet singing, instrumental musicianship and overall presentation.

After 40 plus years Kelton finally gets back at Mrs. Baxter, his 6th grade singing teacher who said he wouldn't amount to anything.
